Hi,
I'm Polly and this is my dog blog.
I live with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Amber, a
cat, chickens and ducks. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister
but they don't live with us. Auntie Tracie at the Scottish
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue found other homes for
them. I like it here where I live, I get to go on plenty
of walks and long runs in the fields and on the beaches.
I've also climbed my first Mountain ~ I remember when I
did it, how hungry and tired I was when we got back to the
tent at night, but I liked it though. Amber is a nice dog
but she is a bit pushy and it's not really fair because
I have to share my things with her. I don't really mind
Amber most of the time because we have good fun playing
tug and chasing rabbits, but she does get a bit narky when
I pinch her stick ~ I mean she could share it. |
| Hi,
and I'm Amber. I live with Polly. I was born 5th August
2007. I am a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Because I am smaller
than Polly, she thinks she can boss me around but I don't
let her. Polly says I am a nuisance because I like to sleep
on her bed with her but she says I snore too much and when
she sniffs things out in the field she says I stick my nose
in and get in the way. I think Boss Woman is a bit mean
because when me and Polly get a biscuit, I eat mine first
so then I try to share Polly's biscuit and Boss Woman stops
me and tells me off. The reason I eat my biscuit first is
not because I am greedy but because mine are smaller (I
think so anyway). My legs are shorter than Polly's and sometimes
she runs really fast just when she pinches my stick because
she knows I can't catch her. Polly said I could share her
dog blog with her as long as I didn't take over and get
all the attention |

22nd May |
Hello
everyone. I am back ! Except for Boss Woman's massive blister,
Big Guy limping like an old man and my legs being at least
3" shorter than they were last week, we are all fine
AND WE FINISHED THE WHOLE OF THE 96 miles WALK. We had the
best time ever. Anyway, I am very tired now and am lying at
Boss Woman's feet as she is writing, so Boss Woman said she
will put more stuff on tomorrow and some pictures as well.
Just to say, a very big THANKYOU to everyone who has sponsored
me. I think that I have raised a lot of money.
I am so glad that Boss Woman is back now. I thought she had
abandoned me ... I keep giving her licky kisses to let her
know that I have missed her.

Thursday
13th May |
Boss
Woman is just getting all our stuff ready for tomorrow morning
at 5.30 a.m. Then we are OFF on our 95 long walk. Just to
say thankyou to all those lovely caring people who are sponsoring
me. All the money will go to helping my doggie friends in
the rescue. Boss Woman got laughed at today in Asda supermarket.
She was buying me some baby socks and when she told the assistant
they were for me, the assistant laughed her head off and thought
it was very funny .... Actually Boss Woman said they were
for in case I hurt my paws and I would have to wear a sock
(held on by a rubber band) so my paws don't get really bad.
I don't think I will need them, but just in case, Big Guy
is carrying them, in his rucsack. Ooooooh. I like long walks
and I think I will like this one. Bye ... back in 9 days ...

Tuesday
11th May |
On our walk
in Durris Forest yesterday, it was snowing, it was cold
as well. Luckily we were too busy running about in the heather
and in the trees to notice the cold.
I got into trouble again for eating 2 baby newts. I didn't
see what the big deal was anyway ~ they were dead
when I found them !
It
is still snowing today. We went into the Forest and down
by the river and I went in for a swim again. I saw 2 dippers
on the river bank. I also heard the first cuckoo of the
year ! It was a bit persistent and kept calling for ages.
|
Wednesday
5th May |
We
saw our first Swallow today. Boss Woman went to the Supermaket
and bought me some dog food for our long walk next week. She
says there probably won't be any shops to buy dog food from
so they will take it with them. Good. It's nice to know that
I won't be starved for a whole week
|
Tuesday
4th May |
We
had the best day today. We went to the Forest in Stoneahaven,
the one with the river in. I went swimming and retrieving
the sticks that Boss Woman kept throwing in. I really like
water and I love swimming. There were a lot of nice flowers
growing as well. Primroses, Wood Anemones and Gorse. The Gorse
was nasty and prickly but it had a lovely smell just like
coconut. I went paddling in the river
as well but I can't swim so I didn't go in deep. Me and Polly
got into trouble ~ Boss Woman shouted at us because we ran
off into the river and didn't wait for her to catch up. She
can be sooo narky sometimes. It's not our fault that
she is such a slow walker, she should learn to keep up with
us !

Thursday
22nd April |
Boss
Woman had to take her car to the garage for it's MOT today
so she walked us down on the Inverbervie coast path. A HUGE
black hairy stinky dog came running up to me, bit me on my
side and ran away. It's stupid owner just smiled and carried
on walking ... Now if I had done that to her dog, would she
have smiled ?? Luckily Boss Woman had
put me on lead, otherwise I would have bitten it back if it
had done that to me ! A Jack Russell x Whippet dog called
Buddy had a sniffy sniffy with me, which I didn't mind. I
did growl at it him though when he tried to jump on my back
! There did seem to be a lot of stupid owners, with untrained
dogs out this morning....

Monday
19th April |
Me and Amber
caught a Pheasant down the fields yesterday and do you know
what ? Boss Woman made us leave it. Sigh .... I was really
looking forward to having it for my dinner and then Boss
Woman picks it up and lets it go. She wouldn't even let
us chase after it again!! A bit mean, I think ... Anyway,
I am now REALLY famous !! I am in our local paper (Mearns
Leader) this week, I was on the radio last Saturday, I am
now in the K9
magazine AND I am going to be in the Wisbech
newspaper tomorrow. In fact, I am so famous, that if
you send me £1 sponsorship, I will send you my autograph
(pawograph). What
I don't understand is when we catch a rabbit, Boss Woman
takes it back home and cooks it for us, yet when we catch
a Pheasant, she lets the stupid thing go ??? All we had
to show for all that chasing and catching it, was a moutfhul
of feathers each !!
|
Saturday
17th April |
Me and Boss Woman were on the local radio this morning. Boss
Woman was talking about when we walk the West Highland Way
in 4 weeks time and asking people to sponsor us. We had some
trouble though ...... When Boss Woman was talking with Nigel
on the radio about me being a Therapet at the Old Folks Home,
about animal rescues (and donkey rescues) and cruelty to animals,
well someone came through the door. I liked the look of him
so I ran towards him to give him BIG licky kisses. HOW was
I supposed to know that Boss Woman was sat on a chair with
castors, that she had the lead around her leg, that she was
wired up to the microphone and earphones and that the whole
lot would fall on the floor when I lunged forwards ??? Nigel
was not at all impressed when Boss Woman shouted HELP and
started laughing, live on air. Poor Nigel looked in a bit
of state and he got confused and started talking about taking
Donkeys into the olds Folks Home as Therapets ??!! Well, that's
a pity, because I like Nigel and I was sorry he looked so
upset !! As we were leaving, he was muttering something about
never working with animals again ...... Well,
if I had gone, I would have behaved myself ! Donkeys into
Old Folks Homes ???? Wouldn't they poo on the floor ??

Friday
16th April |
Hello
everyone. Boss Woman hasn't been able to write my blog for
a long time because the Server people for the computer made
a mess of it and she couldn't upload the writing. Anyway,
here I am now ! It is really exciting this week because Boss
Woman is finalising the long walk ~ The West Highland Way
~ we are doing in May. We are all looking forward to it, me
especially, as I like long walks in strange places. I had
my picture taken yesterday for the local newspaper and I am
going to be in it next Friday, so everyone will know what
we are doing and maybe sponsor me. It's a lovely warm day
today and soon we are going down the fields and go in the
Burn, which I like a lot. It's not
fair. I can't go on the walk. Boss Woman said my little legs
will be too tired walking all that way, every day AND she
says when they stay in the Bed and Breakfast that I might
chew things when she is not there. I don't see why Polly should
get all the nice things happening to her and yet I have to
be left at home !!! I like walking and anyway, I don't chew
THAT much ......

Monday
22nd March |
Ted
(the Ned) went down the fields with us today. He has now passed
his puppy obedience test, Boss Woman thinks he is a very clever
boy. She says he still needs to learn to walk on lead properly
and to COME BACK when he chases things in the field, but she
gave him 2 extra gravy bones for being so clever. Mmmm. I
think he is still an annoying little twonk though. He will
not stop jumping all over me. Doesn't he know I just want
to go sniffing about in the field and don't want him pestering
me to play with him ? We chased 2 Pheasants today, me and
Amber came back when we were called, but Ted just carried
on running ...... I am on a starvation
diet until tomorrow lunchtime, because I was a bit poorly
again. Boss Woman said it is because I INSIST on eating nasty
things from the floor and I really ought to know better. Help,
I am starving and she has no sympathy ........
Hello, it's me,
Ted ! Polly said I could just say a few words on her blog,
so I will. . I like running down the fields with Polly and
Amber. They are not very keen on playing fighting and jumping
all the time, in fact they think I am annoying, but I think
they forget that I am just a puppy and want to play all the
time. We had the best time today ~ me and Polly went in the
Burn and had a great time splashing about in the water, fetching
the sticks back that Boss Woman kept throwing for us. I really
like going in the water and so does Polly. Boss Woman only
walks me a few times a week, for my own Boss Man. I must say,
she IS a bit bossy but I do like the chewy hide sticks or
the gravy bones she always gives me when she takes me back
to my kennel.

Wednesday
17th March |
It's
Boss Woman's birthday today. Happy birthday to youuuuuuuu.
Me and Amber gave her the usual big licky kisses when she
woke up this morning. Big Guy and Boss Woman went to see Cesar
Millan on Sunday, luckily for me and Amber she has not tried
any of his methods on us yet !
|
Tuesday
9th March |
Went
on the coast path down at Inverbervie today. There were 2
stupid women walking their BIG dirty hairy dogs. Their dogs
were bouncing about on the lead trying to get to me and Amber
to fight with us and the women had to wait at the side of
the path until we had gone past. Me and Amber just walked
past them on the lead, all calm like Boss Woman told us to.
One of the women was glaring at Boss Woman and commenting
loudly to her friend how Staffies are vicious dogs and to
keep away from them ! Mmmmm. That WAS funny, considering it
was HER dogs that were uncontrollable and jumping about so
she could hardly keep hold of them. Boss Woman said to just
ignore them and it was a pity that their dogs were not as
well trained or as well behaved as me and Amber! A
really nice man asked me and Polly to sit and then he gave
us a gravy bone biscuit and told us what good girls we were.
Minced Venison for dinner, which I like a lot.

Monday
8th March |
What
a cheek ! A pheasant was strutting round MY garden this morning.
I soon chased him off .... Boss Woman walked us on Stonehaven
Beach today. She bought herself a bag of chips and shared
them with us. Very tasty they were as well, although Boss
Woman said that we aren't supposed to eat potatoes, but I
don't think a few chips can do us any harm. Then we walked
up Bervie Braes where all the landslips have fallen down and
blocked some of the road. There were a lot of red and white
signs saying DANGER, KEEP OUT. Boss Woman just ignored them
all and took us up anyway. She said we needed to walk a long
way on the road to wear our nails down and that the road would
be quiet because it was now blocked to traffic. Boss
Woman took Gnipper the cat to the vet this morning, because
Gnipper has been losing some of her fur. The vet said it's
because she is very old and he gave her 2 jabs in her neck.
Well, the cat got her own back because she bit the vet on
the hand ! The cat is very grumpy though ~ she is always chasing
me and Polly round the garden and if we go near her, she hits
us with her paw. Boss Woman and Big Guy are going to see the
'Dog Whisperer' Cesar Milan on Sunday down in Glasgow. I hope
she doesn't come back with any ideas to practise on me and
Polly !

Saturday
20th February |
In
the Forest yesterday it was snowing MASSIVE snowflakes. Me
and Amber loved it and we really liked trying to catch the
snowballs that Boss Woman kept throwing AT us. I do wish Boss
Woman wouldn't laugh when she throws them at us though. You
would think that she was trying to hit us with them on purpose
! She didn't laugh so much though when she slipped on the
snow and fell down. It was okay though, I gave her big licky
kisses all over her face, which she didn't seem to appreciate.
She is so clumsy, she really ought to watch where she is walking
AND she shouldn't get so narky when me and Amber try to make
her feel better by giving her big licky kisses. She is soooo
ungrateful ! Today, I don't feel very well at all and I have
been sick twice. . I just want to lie behind the patio door
in the sun and keep warm and sleep. Boss Woman said my eyes
are all red as well and that I can't have any dinner or anything
to eat today at all until tomorrow morning. I don't care,
I don't feel hungry anyway. Boss Woman
thinks that Polly was eating something in the Forest yesterday
that she shouldn't have done. I always do that, but I don;t
get sick ! Me and Polly would just like to wish James (he
is really my Boss Man) a very happy birthday for Thursday
18th February. We gave him big licky kisses so that was our
present. He is going to have a party tonight, but he didn't
invite us !
|
Sunday
14th February |
Down the fields today we saw : 4 hares, 4 deer, 2 swans, 2
oyster catchers and LOADS of ducks. I
chased the hares but I couldn't catch them.
|
Saturday
13th February |
Boss Woman
drove us down to near Dundee yesterday, to collect Izzy
and Lizzy ~ 2 canaries. She decided not to get some goats
but got canaries instead from the SSPCA. . She said that
goats take a lot more looking after and because she likes
to go away walking and travelling about, that goats are
not that easy to get looked after by other people. Well,
Izzy canary is soooooo noisy. It makes almost as much racket
as Boss Woman does when she practises her tin whistle tunes
and THAT is a racket ! The canaries seem to like
their new home here and now they have a nice big cage to
live in (unlike their old one) they have more room to fly
about. They seem to like the Brocolli that Boss Woman gave
them as well. I would just like to send a big licky kiss
(Staffie style) to a very nice lady called Teresa who sent
me £5 sponsorship money for when I do the long walk
in May. Plenty of people always say they will sponsor me
for my long walks, but not everyone actually sends the money.
So, thank you very much Teresa. Boss Woman is going to be
speaking on the local radio next Saturday, telling everyone
about the walk we are doing. Cool .... even more people
will know how clever I am then. Polly
is such a show off !! Boss Woman said we have not to bark
too loud in case we frighten the birds. Well, what about
all the noise the birds make then ? She never tells them
off !

Wednesday
10th February |
We
had a lovely walk on the coast path up to Dunnottar Castle
today. Boss Woman said that it was here where Mel Gibson had
filmed HAMLET. Well, I don't know who Hamlet was or who Mel
Gibson is, but there sure was a load of rabbits to
chase. Me and Amber chased the rabbits right over the edge
of the cliff. For some strange reason Boss Woman didn't like
us going over the edge. She can be really paranoid sometimes.
She should know by now that me and Amber are like mountain
goats and can go over the steepest of cliffs without falling
down. Boss Woman was muttering all the way back about how
she wasn't going to go over the edge to rescue us and she
would get herself a cute puppy next time that would have better
recall and behave itself ... A really
nice old lady was talking to me and Polly, in Stonehaven.
She was pushing a shopping trolley chair thing and when she
lifted the lid, it was FULL of doggie biscuits. She gave me
and Polly some. She said she buys them to give to all the
dogs she meets on her walks. She was really impressed and
laughed a lot when Boss Woman got us to do some tricks like
'turn', 'sit', 'paw' and 'rollover' for her. She gave us some
more biscuits for doing it.

Tuesday
2nd February |
When we went in the Forest last Sunday, there was a Yellow
Labrador that was being chased by his Boss Man. Apparently
he had pinched his Boss Man's glove and wouldn't give it back
and the Boss Man was getting really annoyed.. Well,
I joined in the chase because I like pinching gloves as well.
I chased the Labrador all over but I couldn't catch it either,
but it was really good fun chasing around. Boss Woman told
the man, that if he had taught his dog the LEAVE command,
then he wouldn't have had a problem ! Today
in the Forest, me and Polly were running towards Boss Woman
and it was so slippy that we couldn't stop. Polly slipped
right past Boss Woman on the ice and I slipped straight into
Boss Woman's leg and made her fall on the floor. It was okay
though, because when she was laid on the floor covered in
snow, me and Polly gave her big licky kisses, which for some
reason she didn't seem to like !! I think she has a bruise
on her leg now.
|
Friday
29th January |
Lots
more snow in the fields today, which was good to roll about
in. Boss Woman made us wear our stupid fleeces because she
said it was too cold to go out with out a coat. Well, for
heavens sake, I have a coat already, a black and white one
! I ran under a barbed wire fence last week and my new fleece
has now got a hole in. Boss Woman said I am just so clumsy.
Well what does she expect ? That's what us dogs do ~ roll
about, jump over fences, go under fences. It serves her right
for making me wear it. Someone has read my dog blog and wants
to sponsor me for doing the walk in May. They call her Terese,
she is the Boss Woman of Inca. Well, that is very nice of
Terese, and me and Boss Woman would like to say thankyou very
much. Ted was a BIG nuisance in the
field today. He just would not stop jumping all over me and
he kept sniffing me as well. Boss Woman said he is going for
an operation soon so he can't make any babies. Good. I think
just ONE Ted is enough for this world, without having any
more running about!
|
Friday
15th January |
All
the snow has gone now, which is a pity because me and Amber
liked it. Boss Woman has put a picture of Amber on picture
of the week, to show how much we DO like it. The nasty black
cat over the road has been fighting with our old cat Gnipper.
Poor Gnipper is in a right state. All her fur is pulled out,
she is limping and she has a big lump on her back. If me and
Amber see the black cat, we will chase it. See how it likes
that !! We went with Ted the Ned down
the field today. He is very naughty and keeps jumping all
over me and biting my face. When I growl at him and bowl him
over, then he licks my face. Yuk !
|
Wednesday
6th January |
A very happy
New Year to everyone ! Guess what ? Me and Amber are soooo
famous now. We were on a calendar for dogs having fun. Our
picture was picked, being in the top 12 of loads of pictures.
Everyone can see us now ~ we are Misses April. Me, Amber
and Boss Woman went in the Forest today. It was absolutely
freezing cold and snowing hard. Boss Woman was white all
over her clothes with all the snow and she had icicles hanging
from her hair. Me and Amber loved it, we were chasing about
all over making snow paw prints. It was great running round
and round in the snow.Me
and Polly were running so fast, we kept slipping about in
the ice and snow. We were starving when we got home and
had minced pheasant for dinner.

Monday
28th December |
We have all
had a lovely Christmas. Plenty to eat and log fires to keep
us nice and warm. Me and Amber have eaten loads of turkey,
so it's just as well that we have been out for long runs
in the fields, otherwise we would be getting FAT. I learnt
a new trick that no one showed me ~ I kept pinching the
Almonds out of the nut bowl, cracking them with my very
strong teeth and sharing them with Amber. I love Almonds.
Boss Woman told me off, because she says they are her favourite
nut as well. Boss Woman had to take the Walnuts out of the
nut bowl though, as apparently they are poisonous if me
and Amber eat them. For Christmas, I got a new blue translucent
frisbee that can either float or fly and Amber got a new
pink hard ball (she chewed the other one to bits .. ). Boss
Woman has been ringing people up today to arrange for the
baby pygmy goats that she is going to get. Luckily, I don't
think they will have horns. We went
to Skatie shore today and chased loads of rabbits. It has
been so cold here at night, it was - 8 degrees last night,
it's a good job Boss Woman puts me a heat pad in my cage
at night when I go to bed because I am always shivering.
Boss Woman is looking after someone's budgie, called Buddie.
He can get a bit noisy sometimes when he is singing and
whistling.
|
Monday
21st December |
Ted
the Cairn Terrier x Collie went for a run today with us, in
the fields. He is a bit boisterous and annoys me and Amber
by jumping all over us, but he is great fun and we play chasing
with him. He does get a bit silly sometimes though then we
have to growl at him or bowl him over. He seems like a quick
learner so we will soon have him sorted out. He lives down
the road from where we live It was so cold down the fields
It must have been very cold at night because Boss Woman said
the thermometer was reading -8 degrees. Boss
Woman is making us wear a stupid 'hoodie' when we go out for
a run. I don't like it at all. She said that we need it on
because we only have short coats, unlike Ted who has a long
coat.
|
Sunday
13th December |
We
went shopping in Aberdeen yesterday (well Boss Woman did,
we stayed outside the shops with Big Guy). It was really really
busy and me and Amber nearly got trodden on a few times. Outside
Union Square, there were people playing Christmas songs on
drums and one of them had a whistle. I didn't like the whistle
noise and I barked all the time to make the whistling stop.
The man with the whistle was laughing at me and kept stepping
forward to make me bark even more ! Boss Woman liked the music
and laughed at me for barking. Boss Woman and Big Guy bought
themself a pie for the lunch and they shared it with me and
Amber. I liked the music and wanted
to stop and listen to it but Boss Woman made us leave because
stupid Polly wouldn't shut up. Loads of people stopped and
made a fuss of us. Down the fields today, I saw a hare and
chased it, then Polly joined in chasing it as well. We didn't
catch it though, it was too fast Boss Woman said it was because
me and Polly are too fat to run so fast. Well, that's a bit
mean, because we are not fat !
|
Tuesday
8th December |
We
had a really interesting weekend. We all went down to Yorkshire
on Friday. While Big Guy was busy, Boss Woman took us on a
10 mile walk, it was part of the Cleveland Way. We walked
from Scarborough to Filey on the Coast Path. Boss Woman was
a real wuss, she was scared in case she slipped and fell off
the path. Mind you, it was very muddy and a bit close to the
falling away cliff edge ! We were walking through this field
and suddenly 6 giant horned Highland Cattle appeared over
the edge of the hill. Boss Woman was absolutely petrified
and was shaking like a jelly. She didn't have to worry ~ me
and Amber would have looked after her. We
caught the train back from Filey to Scarborough, after the
walk. People didn't want to stand near us because we were
all covered in mud. Ha Ha. The only person that stood by us
on the train was a very strange man. He said he was a member
of the Real Ale Society and had been trying them all out.
Phew, he was a bit stinky.
|
Wednesday
2nd December |
Boss Woman got anouther stupid phone call from some firm called
Home Serve. They want to sell her some sort of insurance for
when the outside water pipes freeze. Like ... what are they
going to do, reimburse her for spoiling the garden ?? She
said they must be crackers !! Gnipper
the grumpy cat chased Polly today. Polly is scared of the
cat and ran away quick. Ha Ha.
|
Tuesday
1st December |
I'm
really disappointed now. Boss Woman ordered me some chuckit
balls from a place in Barnes, London, called the Waggery.
They never sent them so Boss Woman emailed and telephoned
them and they don't even ever reply. Boss Woman is so mad
that she has reported them to Trading Standards. The only
reply she got from The Waggery was a spurious email saying
something about abuse, telling her to open an attachment to
see that they didn't have them in stock. Grrrrr.
|
Tuesday
24th November |
Boss
Woman had a really stupid telephone call today from 099994404.
They even got her name wrong. They were trying to sell her
something. Like, she would be so stupid as to even speak to
a stranger with a foreign sounding accent, with a dodgy telephone
number, who didn't even get her name right. She said there
are some really horrible evil people who try and steal money
off other vulnerable people. She says they are as thick and
horrible as the mud in the soggy field where we go running.
Yes, but she didn't even hang up on
him ~ she left the phone on the table so it would cost them
more money for the call. It was really funny to hear the voice
going ... Hello ? Hello ? She always does that.
|
Friday
20th November |
It's
my birthday tomorrow. Yippeeeee !!! I'll be 3 years old. My
birthday present hasn't arrived yet though. Boss Woman says
the postman might bring it tomorrow morning. Today we went
down the fields and saw loads more geese AND 20
swans. Amazing it was. We
got really muddy as well down the fields. It has been raining
so much and there is so much water about, I might need to
wear my lifejacket when we go for a walk. Polly is having
beef and heart mince for her Birthday dinner. I hope she is
going to share!
|
Wednesday
18th November |
An
amazing thing happened today. We went a run down the field
as usual, there were loads of geese at the top of the hill.
Me and Amber chased them and they all took off flying. There
must have been AT LEAST 400 all flying around making a right
racket. I think Boss Woman was concerned in case they pood
on her head. Me and Amber chased them all over the field,
up, down, round and round. Great fun it was. . It's my birthday
on Saturday, I am 3 years old. Boss Woman has sent away for
a nice present for me ~ it is an especially hard ball that
fits in the chuckit. Apparently it is so strong, that even
dogs with jaws like me and Amber, can't destroy it. Ha Ha,
we'll see !! Boss Woman says if it is fine on Saturday, like
not raining, then she will take us down to St. Cyrus beach
to celebrate my birthday. I like it
down at St. Cyrus beach and we get to run miles and miles
and go in the sea as well. I wonder if Boss Woman will sing
Happy Birthday to Polly, like she did last year. I hope not,
she can't sing for toffee ! Raw
mince for tea, which I really like.
|
Thursday
12th November |
We went in
the Forest for a walk yesterday tea time. It was soooo dark,
pitch black even. Not that me or Amber were scared or anything,
we loved it but Boss Woman was getting a bit narky because
she said she couldn't see us when we ran ahead. I think
she needs to buy some specs ~ strong ones ! I mean, we were
only JUST in front of her, except when we chased
after the deer. I think Boss Woman was scared of slipping
because she was walking very slowly and very carefully.
She even put us on lead in the end because she complained
she couldn't see where we were. Sigh .....
We have never been in the Forest when it has been so dark
before. There were loads of different sounds than there
is during the day. Me and Polly liked it and ran round and
round playing chasing, it was really exciting. We got really
muddy as well.

Sunday
1st November |
NOW you will
not believe where Boss Woman is going. Next year she is
off on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Scary stuff. I hope
she doesn't fall off the mountain or anything. I think she
has gone mad ??!! The whole garden
has flooded again. When we went out, the water went nearly
up to my knees. The ducks like it though.
|
Wedmesday
28th October |
We
all went to a new beach today for a lovely long walk ~ Newburgh
sands. It was really lovely with plenty of people to meet,
things to see and birds to chase. Boss Woman was talking to
someone about the wildlife and there was a man with a MASSIVE
camera lens taking pictures of the Ythan Estuary with all
the birds and seals. A man with a black labrador (he gave
us a biscuit) told Boss Woman not to let me and Amber swim
in the Estuary ~ he said that this summer, a small dog that
had been swimming in the Estuary had been taken and eaten
by seals. There were a lot of them all swimming about,
sneaky like. We were watching the seals sneaking up on the
ducks and cormorants, no doubt to catch and eat them as well
! It was 18 degrees today ~ really hot when it should have
been really cold for this time of year. We
walked for a long way and Boss Woman kept throwing a stick
in the sea for us to chase after. I did wonder if she was
trying to make the seals get hold of us AND she was telling
someone that she wouldn't mind swapping us for a new puppy.
I hope she was kidding !!?? Lungs for tea. Yum.

Tuesday
27th October |
Crikey, I think
Amber needs to learn to swim as soon as possible. The whole
place is flooded with all the heavy rain we are having.
The garden, the fields, Big Guy's garage, everything is
under water. Boss Woman said we might need to build an ark
and then we can call Big Guy Noah ~ although I am not sure
what she is on about ! We found a dead Robin in the garden
that had been blown about by the wind. Last Friday night,
we all went down to the Forth Road Bridge to pick up some
meat for me and Amber. We had a car full of raw dog meat
and Big Guy had to hold me on his knee on the drive back,
because I was trying to eat it all. Beef, Beef and Kidney,
Turkey mince with bone, ooohh it did smell nice. It's all
in the freezer now. I was a bit worried
in the fields today. Where we normally run about in the
grass, there was so much water that it almost came up to
my chin AND me and Polly got really muddy so Boss Woman
had to wash our feet in soapy water. Beef for dinner.
|
Tuesday
20th October |
Me and Amber have just been in kennels for a week while Boss
Woman and Big Guy floated off to France. I don't like it in
kennels and I was so upset and barking all the time for Boss
Woman that I have lost my voice and can't bark properly yet.
Boss Woman reckons it is so peaceful now I have lost my bark
!! She is so mean ... I really didn't
like it in kennels either and I missed my long walks in the
Forest. Polly had to go to the vet today to have a needle
put in the lump on her toe.
|
Wednesday
7th October |
A
new walk today at Fettercairn. Loads of lovely new smells,
new things to chase ~ partridge, pheasants AND 2 black grouse.
They all flew away though, they were a bit fast for us to
catch. Polly got into trouble ~ she
ate a dead mouse even though Boss Woman told her not to !
Serve her right if she gets bellyache.
|
Tuesday
6th October |
Me
and Amber have been really poorly this week. We both have
something called kennel cough. Boss Woman said it is just
like a bad cold in human people. We have been sneezing and
coughing. We still go for runs in the fields and forests though
~ we are not that poorly. Boss Woman has been sorting
out for our next big walk next May. From Milngavie (near Glasgow)
all the way up to Fort William. Can't wait, I love walking
a long way, especially somewhere I haven't been before. You
can sponsor me if you like. We
will give the money to the Staffie Rescue again, because Boss
Woman said that some dogs don't have anyone to look after
them just yet and so they need the money to pay for their
vets bills and food while they find a nice home. Big
Guy is really busy now ~ he is having to fix in a new boiler,
because the old one blew up and left sooty smoke everywhere.
What a mess !! Boss Woman went mad ...
|
Sunday
28th September |
I
had to go to the vet today. My front toe is really sore and
swollen. The vet said it was either a blackberry thorn or
something stuck in it, OR an interdigital cyst (whatever that
is ..). I have to take some horrible MASSIVE tablets for a
whole week. I had to go for a rabies
jab as well for my for my pets passport. I don't like the
vet, he frightens me and I shake like a jelly when I go into
the surgery. The vet said Gnipper the cat had to have special
'Senior' Cat food now she is nearly 17 years old. Boss Woman
complained that the ANIMALS are costing her a fortune !!
|
Sunday
20th September |
Me,
Amber and Gnipper the cat went sniffing out a rat under the
log store today. We knew it was there AND we heard it sqeaking.
Me and Amber chased it down the garden but it ran away. Boss
Woman was a bit annoyed today, she found some dog poo next
to our garden fence. She said it was from the Labrador that
lives across the road. She took it back and left it outside
the guys gate. She said it was disgusting and very lazy of
the owner and she doesn't see why he can't clean up after
his dog, like she does after me and Amber.
The cat caught the rat as it ran away from me and Polly. The
cat was struggling with it and it bit her, then it ran away
again under the shed. We'll just wait until later, we are
sure to catch it again !
|
Thursday
17th September |
Loads
of geese flying over today, I think it's a sign that summer
is now over. That's probably why the swallows have all gone
~ to make room in the sky for the geese. Boss Woman must be
getting better from her cold now, because she took us on a
lovely 2 hour Forest walk today. Lovely smells in the Forest
today ~ blackberries, mushrooms, wet leaves, dead rabbits
.... I had to go to the vets AGAIN today.
I don't like the vets, they always put a thermometer up my
bum. I ate a corn cob and everyone was worried in case it
got stuck inside me, because apparently corn cobs can't digest
in my tummy. The vet said that Boss Woman had to check my
poo, Ha Ha, to make sure the corn cob had come out
the other end !! That'll teach her for always telling me off
....
|
Tuesday
15th September |
Amber
got into BIG trouble today. We went down to Skatie Shore and
Amber was so busy chasing rabbits in the long grass and digging
in the rabbit holes, that Boss Woman couldn't find her anywhere.
Even though Boss Woman was shouting for her, Amber never appeared
for about 10 minutes. Boss Woman was really cross and then
when Amber came back, she got a massive telling off. It was
19 degrees today, it was lovely and warm. I think all the
Swallows have now gone home, as we haven't seen any for a
few days. Tell tale ! Boss Woman wasn't
so mad anyway ~ she gave me loads of her Blackberries, which
were lovely and juicy and make my poo turn black.
|
Monday
14th September |
Boss Woman
is feeling really sorry for herself today. She has a really
bad cold and she was really narky with us today, just because
we were pinching her blackberries out of the bag when she
was picking them. I mean, it's not our fault she has a stupid
cold. She has been busy working this morning on something
called tidal power ~ it sounds like something that I do
when I go swimming. Ha Ha. Another thing ~ Boss Woman nearly
suffocated me today with hugging me. Some of the hens had
escaped, so Boss Woman called took me out to help her ~
she told me what to do and I went round, quiet like, rounded
them up and drove them back in the pen AND I didn't
even try and catch or bite one (like Amber would !). I
don't care, hens are stupid creatures anyway. They get me
all excited when they flap around and squawk which makes
me want to catch them and eat them.
|
Monday
7th September |
Boss
Woman picked loads of Blackberries today. She gave me and
Amber some as well, which make a change as normally she keeps
them all herself. I got stung on my foot by a stupid wasp
and it really hurts now and there is a big lump on my toe.
Boss Woman got stung by a wasp on her arm the other day when
she was picking Raspberries. I caught
a rabbit down at Skatie Shore as well.
|
Monday
27th July |
You'll never believe what Boss Woman is wanting to get now
??? A pygmy goat !!!!! What on earth she wants one of them
for, I don't know. You'd think she had enough bother with
the chickens and ducks. I hope she realises that goats eat
EVERYTHING ..... probably including dogs! ! I hope she knows
what she is doing. Big Guy didn't say anything. I think he
has given up on talking sense into her. Mind you, Big Guy
didn't want to get me either, so it's a good job she doesn't
always listen to him.
|
Friday
24th July |
Me
and Boss Woman went down to Dunkeld today and we called at
Caly Forest for a walk. We got followed all the way by a black
Labrador that was by itself. Boss Woman spent 30 minutes on
her mobile ringing round to get hold of the dog warden. We
all got wet through and were waiting in the Forest for 2 and
half hours for the dog warden to collect him. The dog warden
scanned him and apparently his name was Ben and he lived in
Birnham (near Dunkeld). On his tag it didn't have his telephone
number. Boss Woman said that Ben's owners were really stupid
inconsiderate idiots and that if his telephone number had
been on his tag then she could have delivered him home in
10 minutes, instead of spending 30 minutes on her mobile phone
and 2 and half hours waiting in the pouring rain for someone
to collect him. She said they should have taken better care
of him and that the poor dog was lucky that we found him..
|
Thursday
23rd July |
Remember
the tadpoles that Boss Woman brought back from the Forest
? Well, some of them have turned into the tiniest little frogs
you have ever seen and are jumping all over the garden. Big
Guy has been banned from mowing the lawn in case he cuts them
to bits. Boss Woman had an enormous
double scoop ice cream today, with chocolate bits, marshmallows
and toffee sauce. The ice cream was melting all over the floor
while she was eating it and some of it dripped on my tail,
so I ate it off before she could wipe it off. It tasted very
nice, although Boss Woman was a bit concerned because she
says I am not supposed to eat chocolate.
|
Thursday
16th July |
Had
a run down to Skatie Shore today. We were chasing rabbits
as usual but they kept running faster than us so we never
caught any. I went swimming in the sea and Amber went paddling.
There was a massive seal swimming about near me. The seals
over by the rocks were making a right racket. Moaning and
groaning. Boss Woman said they were probably mating, whatever
that means. Whatever they were doing, they were very very
noisy and I kept barking at them to tell them to shut up,
but they ignored me. I went paddling
in the sea, the water was lovely and cool round my tummy.
Me and Polly were chasing the Eider ducks in the sea and Oyster
Catchers on the beach. They were making very strange noises,
I'm sure they were laughing at us.
|
Monday
13th July |
Just
came back from our holidays yesterday. It was lovely and we
all had a good time. We went swimming in the sea and Big Guy
and Boss Woman went biking with us running at the side of
them.. Most days it was very hot though so we couldn't do
much walking during the day. The flies drove me mad and I
have big lumps all over me, especially my ears. One day Amber
couldn't do all of the walk because it was too hot for her
and she she had to have water poured all over her to cool
her down.
We went for a walk in the local Forest today. Boss Woman was
picking bilberries ~ she was so mean she wouldn't share them
with us, so we had to pick our own ! They were very nice and
juicy. I got to wear my new lifejacket
on holiday, when I went swimming in the sea. Boss Woman calls
me gluggles because I can't swim and I sink to the bottom
of the sea without
my lifejacket on. It was great fun and I got to swim a long
way like Polly does. It was thundering really loud on holiday
and me and Polly were a bit scared until Boss Woman gave us
a cuddle.
|
Saturday
20th June |
Big Buy went
with us to Skatie shore today. Me and Amber went into the
sea and I swam out to retrieve a stick. There were 2 seals
in the sea, watching us. Boss Woman made me get out of the
water ~ she said the seals could bite my legs off. Yikes
!! There was a poodle wanting to play with us, but I chased
it away, because it was trying to pinch my stick. When I
went to see the old ladies on Tuesday for Therapet, I did
a roll over. They were really impressed and all of them
said what a clevel girl I was. Me
and Polly chased 2 black farm cats in the fields on Tuesday
night. I caught one and jumped on it (like I do with our
cat Gnipper) because I wanted it to play. It was stupid.
It did a high back flip then jumped on my back and clung
there, digging it's claws in. I was running down the field
howling with pain, with it still stuck to my back. Then
it jumped off, so I chased it up a tree. Boss Woman is soooo
mean. She was laughing her head off and said the farm cat
was getting revenge for chasing it. Chased loads of rabbits
today at Skatie shore but didn't catch one. I hope they
don't start chasing me back as well .......
|
Monday
15th June |
Another
lovely long walk in the Forest today. The sky was making very
loud grumbling and banging noises for ages and it came very
dark, then it started to rain massive drops. Me and Amber
kept looking up at the sky, wondering what all the noise was
about and where it was coming from. We didn't care anyway,
we were too busy chasing things in the Forest to bother about
it. Boss Woman collected some more tadpoles in a bottle, because
she said the tadpole ponds were nearly all dried up and the
tadpoles would die if she left them there. She has been feeding
dead flies to the tadpoles at home. . I
liked it when it was raining hard because it made all these
new smells which were very interesting and I was jumping
about all over with my nose in the air, sniffing them. Boss
Woman gave us some of her home made cheese & bacon biscuits
when we got back to the car, which we were glad of because
we were starving with all that running about. Boss Woman is
going to buy me a lifejacket for when go caoeing, so I don't
drown. She says I can't swim so I'll need one !
|
Monday
9th June |
Boss
Woman went to have a cup of tea with her friend today. That's
where my friend Ben lived. Well, I searched all over for him;
in the kitchen, in the bedrooms, living room, under the table,
behind the settee ..... everywhere. He was nowhere to be seen,
anywhere. Boss Woman told me later that Ben had to go to the
vet for an injection to make him sleep forever. Apparently
he was very old and poorly and could hardly walk. What a shame.
Poor Ben, but at least he is not in pain anymore. She is planning
for us to go on another long walk next May ~ The West Highland
Way. Once again, if anyone wants to sponsor us (money going
to Staffie Rescue). Details on the sponsor
/ walk diary page.

Sunday
8th June |
We
have had been doing a lot of long walking this week. We went
back to the Forest where the tadpoles were and Boss Woman
collected some of them in a bottle because the pool they were
in was nearly dried up and she is going to put them in Loch
Muick when we go walking over to Lochnagar next week. I like
Lochnagar ~ there is the big Loch to swim in and a big mountain
to climb. Last night, her and Big Guy went to hear this guy
called Doug Scott lecturing on mountain climbing. She even
bought a picture of Doug Scott and Chris Bonnington. Don't
know what the big deal is ~ just looks like a couple of old
codgers on a rock to me ! I hope she's not thinking about
going back to see Mount Everest again. The
nasty tom cat from over the road killed Charlie Duck, it was
chasing the hens all round the hen run as well. So me and
Polly chased it out of the garden. It had better not come
back or else we'll chase it again ! Our old cat Gnipper is
scared of it because it fights with her. We saw 4 hares in
the field this week, they were running about all over and
chasing each other.
|
Friday
29th May |
It
is really hot today ~ 21 degrees in fact. We had a long 4
hour walk in the Forest and saw, 2 horses, a field full of
Highland Cattle, 1 woodpecker and 1 dead badger. I kept jumping
into the undergrowth after noises, which I thought were mice.
Boss Woman said they were probably snakes so best not to jump
in the grass after them. We were just going round a corner
on the path, when we saw a ginger bushy pine martin. It was
almost as tall as Amber and about 30" long from nose
to tail. Me and Amber chased it and it ran up a tree so we
couldn't get it. I just stayed under the tree barking at it
and it was too scared to come down. It didn't half run fast.
We were tired when we got home ~ we had some chicken for our
dinner and I'm now going to have a nap. Me
and Polly were really thirsty so we drank some water from
a pool in the Forest. The pool was full of tadpoles which
we swallowed, I swallowed so many, they made me choke. Boss
Woman made us come out of the pool, which was a bit mean,
as we were enjoying chasing the tadpoles round with our nose.
Although Boss Woman did laugh at me because she said my face
was covered all over in mud ! Forests are my favourite of
all the walks that we do. There is always something to smell,
hear or chase and I like them a lot.
|
Saturday
23rd May |
I
am really glad to see Boss Woman again. She went floating
off to Rome last week without us and 2 weeks before that she
went to Paris. I don't think I would have liked all that pavement
walking so I was glad that I stayed here with Big Guy, although
I did miss her and me and Amber gave her the biggest kissy
licks you have ever seen when she got back. The other day
I had a massive tick on me and Big Guy had to pull it out.
It hurt and made me yelp. I missed her
a lot as well. I am glad she is back now. She went climbing
up the Tower of Pisa. I don't think I would have liked that
~ I much prefer running in the fields chasing rabbits than
dodging feet. When I went into the kennels, the guy there
said I was so muscly, it looked like I had been 'working out'.
It's probably all those long walks that Boss Woman makes me
do that gives me muscles ! I have a sore eye and Boss Woman
had to get some ointment from the vet to put on it.
|
Wednesday
13th May |
Went
to Fetteresso Forest today for a long walk. We had great fun
swimming and playing and chasing floating sticks in the River
Cowie. Me and Amber were barking and growling a lot when we
were playing tug of war with sticks. We were so happy ...
We saw a Guy with a Jack Russell.and he picked his dog up
when he saw us and heard us growling. I thought that was really
strange, because usually people let their Jack Russell bite
me before they pick it up ! A woman who had a Collie was watching
Boss Woman pull some pooey grass out of Amber's bum, I think
she was shocked ! Amber is always getting grass stuff stuck
in her bum because she eats so much of it. Boss Woman called
her a Poo Monster. I found the leg of
a deer in the Forest, which I carried in my mouth back to
the car. Boss Woman let me take it home so I could finish
off chewing it at home. Rabbit for dinner, which I like a
lot.
|
Tuesday
12th May |
Had
a 10 mile walk in the Forest yesterday. It was lovely ~ there
were things to chase, plenty to sniff AND a river to paddle
in. I think Boss Woman was really worried in case we were
lost because she kept stopping and looking round to see where
we were. Well, considering she had forgotten the map, it would
have served her right if she was lost. Boss Woman got talking
to a man with a German Short Haired Pointer. She asked him
if he would swap his dog for her Black and White one (ME).
Not funny at all, so I don't know why she laughed. I have
serious doubts about her sometimes .... . I
was glad when we got back to the car because I was very tired,
hot and hungry. We only went to Skatie Shore today,
I think Boss Woman wanted a change from all those trees !
|
Tuesday
5th May |
We went down
the fields early this morning. We saw 2 hares fighting in
the field so me and Amber chased them. They soon stopped
fighting then and ran away like lightening. Boss Woman saved
my life as well. I was breaking a stick off a tree with
my teeth and some of it got wedged across the top of the
mouth between my teeth. I couldn't spit it out and whatever
I did, I couldn't get it out either. It was hurting me a
right lot and I kept pawing my face to stop it hurting.
Luckily Boss Woman put her fingers in my mouth and pulled
it out ~ she does come in quite useful occasionally ! Then
I had Therapet at the Old Folk's Home at 11 a.m. Someone
said that it was lovely to see a little dog give so much
pleasure to the Old People. I don't mind ~ I like giving
them kisses and getting all the attention. Afterwards, we
went to Pets at Home for some more bisuits. Honestly,
Polly is so clumsy sometimes. It's not the first time she
has done that, she really ought to be more careful.
|
Wednesday
29th April |
Went down to
Skatie Shore today and had great fun (as usual) chasing
rabbits. Boss Woman was collecting seaweed. She said she
was going to dry it and feed a little bit to us every day,
she said it was good for us. Well! I hope she knows what
she is doing and isn't trying to poison us..... Someone
has been digging into the rocks again down there and they
have made a right mess of the path. Loose stones everywhere
and debris. Boss Woman said it could be quite dangerous
if you didn't watch where you were putting your feet and
whoever had done it were a bunch of idiots ! We saw 2 seagulls
chasing an injured Eider duck which was floundering in the
water and then we saw a bit fat seal as well, which kept
popping it's head out of the water to look at us.
I was drinking seaweater and then I got sick this afternoon.
Apparently I can't have anything to eat for 48 hours. I'll
probably be starved to death by then.
|
Monday
20th April |
Boss
Woman had to take her car into the garage at Inverbervie today.
There were loads of Swallows diving in and out of the Garage,
really busy. I think they were making a nest. We had a lovely
walk down the coast path to Gourdon and met loads of other
nice dogs and a grumpy old fat Labrador that jumped on me
so I growled at it and chased it away. It's
very warm and sunny today. We have been playing in the garden
and digging big holes.
|
Monday
13th April |
A lovely sunny
day yesterday and we had a great time on the beach, chasing
the seagulls. It was very busy though with loads of other
dogs and people, Big Guy said it was because it was holiday
time and everyone had come for thier holidays. We
had a busy time in the fields today. Searching out mice
in the straw bale, digging for moles, chasing rabbits, birds,
hares and deer. I am sooo tired now. Chicken for dinner,
which I like.
|
Wednesday
8th April |
Boss Woman
and Big Guy floated off on some trip to Nepal so she couldn't
update my dog blog. She can be a bit slack sometimes! They
went trekking up to Pangboche on the Everest Trek path and
actually saw Mount Everest. She said it was a bit scary
and very steep and they had to cross the river on wobbly
scary bridges and dodge the Yaks. Some poeple sponsored
them and they got £50 for the Scottish Staffie Rescue.
Anyway, she is back now which I am glad of, because me and
Amber missed her. We had to go into kennels during the week,
which we didn't like very much but we got to eat tins of
doggie meat, which we did like a lot. Went down to Skatie
Shore last Monday and Boss Woman said she saw a gruesome
sight ~ a slug was eating a worm and the worm was all red
and bloated. Yuk ..... We are just off down the field now
for a run ~ no doubt Boss Woman will be washing us when
we get back because it is wet and muddy outside. She's okay,
but she can be a bit fussy. I am soooo famous
now, apparently even people in America are reading all about
me. Cool. I wonder if dogs in America talk with a different
accent ? Boss Woman said that it has been proven that birds
in different countries make a slightly different noise than
they do over here.I
hope she doesn't go off on some other trip just yet because
I missed her a lot. There are some 'travellers' in caravans
at the layby down the road. They keep driving past our house
and looking in the garden. I don't know why they are called
'travellers' ~ they don't seem to travel very far. They
just drive to the layby and stay there
and they leave a right mess behind with their rubbish all
over. Boss Woman is
a bit worried in case they run off with me and Polly.
|
Tuesday
17th March |
Went to see
the old ladies in Stonehaven today for Therapet. They all
sang Happy Birthday to Boss Woman and made her a cup of
tea. I gave them all plenty of kisses (as usual). It's lovely,
warm and sunny today ~ 12 degrees in fact but Boss Woman
reckons it will snow next week because she says it always
snows the week after her birthday.
Boss Woman is soooooo greedy. She ate a whole box of chocolates
to herself. I think she feels sick now and if she doesn't,
well she should do !!
|
Friday
13th March |
Friday
the 13th eh ?? Ha Ha. I am not bothered, I am not superstitious
!! Boss Woman took us on a new path today, we have never walked
on before. It was lovely and loads of stuff to smell and see.
We saw some huge deer ~ not the small ones we normally see
but HUGE ones. We saw some frogspawn in the ditch as well
AND we heard a woodpecker.
|
Sunday
8th March |
Just
come back from a weekend in Aberfeldy, Perth today. We did
loads and loads of walking in the hills. It was snowing and
very cold as well. Boss Woman made me wear my stupid cagoule
that she made me and I had to wear my fleece at night. Sigh
... I wasn't very impressed. We got to meet and walk with
20 other people that Boss Woman and Big Guy are trekking in
Nepal with. I really enjoyed it and Saturday night I got to
go to the pub and shared some of Big Guy's steak pie. I hurt
my foot on some chicken wire climbing over the fence and it
is making me limp now because it hurts so much. Boss Woman
said that I ought to learn to watch where I am putting my
feet. Not much sympathy there then !
|
|
Tuesday
3rd March
|
We went on a lovely 5 mile walk in the Forest today. We had
never been in this Forest before and it was really interesting.
I saw my first ever Newt ! . It didn't smell very appetising
so I didn't eat it. It didn't even jump away when I sniffed
it, I think it must have only just woken up from the winter.
All the birds are getting really noisy now ~ we heard Lapwings
and skylarks today, making a right racket and singing away.
We had
fish for dinner and a duck egg, I was well starving when we
got back home from the walk. The ducks are laying eggs now,
so we get to have a duck egg every day.
|
Friday
27th February |
Went shopping
to Aberdeen with Boss Woman today ~ well, I stayed in the
car while she went shopping. It's Big Guy's birthday tomorrow
so she bought him a present. I don't know what it is though
but I'm sure Big Guy will show me tomorrow when he opens
it. I wernt for a run down at Skatie Shore yesterday without
Amber. I miss Amber when she is not there, as it's not much
fun chasing rabbits and jumping in the sea by yourself.
Boss Woman took me down to St. Cyrus beach on Monday and
there was a Staffie x chasing about all by itself. It didn't
want to play with me or chase me, it just ran up and down
the beach. Boss Woman called it but it just ran away again.
I went sniffing round a bush and a Swan hissed at me, so
I thought I had better leave it alone in case it attacked
me. It looked a bit narky and vicious. I think it was sat
on a nest.
I feel better now but Boss Woman won't let me run off lead
yet. She says I am too mad and run about too much and I
have to take it easy for another week or two. I'm fine,
she just fusses too much. I'm dying to get chasing rabbits
into gorse bushes again. Maybe now I have had my operation,
it might make me run faster then I can catch them as well
!

Friday
20th February |
We drove a
long way yesterday, to take Stella to her new home. Stella's
new Boss Woman rang up my Boss Woman this morning and said
that Stella had been very good and slept in her new cage
all night without the door being closed. Stella has been
all over the place. Long walks, meeting her new Boss Woman's
friends, Pets at Home for some goodies ! Stella saw a little
boy in Pets at Home and she didn't even jump up at him,
like she would have done before. She also lives with a (grumpy)
cat and she had chicken for her dinner last night. ! Stella
has a nice big garden to play in. I pood in the garden,
just to remind Stella that I had been there and not to forget
me. Stella
was a nuisance, but I am glad she has found someone to look
after her properly. I feel a bit better now, especially
after I had some rabbit for my dinner, that the gamekeeper
brought us. I feel sleepy all the time, I think it must
be the tablets Boss Woman is making me have. I hope she
is not trying to poison me !!!

Wednesday
18th February |
Amber
came home from the vets on Monday night and then she was bleeding
a right lot and she was very poorly. She had to go back to
the vets yesterday for another operation and she stayed there
last night. She is back now, but she is not very well and
she just wants to sleep all the time. I hope she will be alright,
because I miss her not playing chasing with me in the fields.
A really nice lady called Irene came to see Stella today.
She is going to give Stella a nice new home. She was very
nice and she kept hugging Stella and saying what a clever
girl she was. She hugged me as well, but not as much as Stella.
I am soooo
tired, I just want to sleep all the time. I still don't feel
very well. . Boss Woman gave me some nice meat for my tea
which was really tasty.

Monday
16th February |
Amber had to
go to the vets today for an operation to stop her having
any puppies. Me and Stella got to run in the Forest down
Slug Road, for miles and miles. There was a lot of deep
snow and Boss Woman kept throwing snowballs at us ~ she's
always doing it, she seems to find it funny when they hit
us. Sigh .... Me and Stella followed some deer tracks but
we couldn't find the deer. Stella has a good sniffy nose
and she can smell animal tracks before I can. I
don't feel very well now I have come back from the vets.
My tummy hurts a lot. Boss Woman gave me some chicken for
my tea but I didn't eat anything because my tummy hurts
so much. I've got a massive cut on my tummy with a load
of stitches in it. I hope it doesn't leave a big scar and
spoil my looks ! Boss Woman said I should feel a bit better
tomorrow but I can't go for a run in the field for 2 weeks.
I have to go for my stitches out next Tuesday.

Wednesday
4th February |
We
have got my friend Stella Labrador staying with us, until
Boss Woman can find a new home for her. We all went down to
the local Beach for a run today and there were loads of dead
seagulls and even a dead seal. We ALL got into trouble because
we had a bite out of the dead seal. Boss Woman was really
narky, she said it just reminded her that we were nothing
but dirty filthy stinking animals. You know, she has said
that before. I wonder who I can report her to !? It's not
very politically correct is it ? ~ I mean, EVEN ANIMALS have
rights !!!!
I don't like Stella, she keeps running into me all the time
and knocking me over, just because I am smaller than she is.
She came in very useful on Monday though. On Monday, the leftover
chicken was left on the table and Stella, because she is a
lot bigger than me and Polly, reached up and pinched some
for us. It tasted lovely.

Wednesday
28th January |
Had
a lovely, but muddy, time in the woods today. Boss Woman kept
throwing a stick for me and Amber to fetch. Trouble is, she
kept throwing down the really steep banking ~ I'm sure she
was trying to make us jump off the edge into the river below
! I woke
up at 4 a.m. this morning. I kept barking to wake everyone
up, because I had seen a fox in the garden. I think the fox
was trying to get to the hens and ducks, but luckily they
were all securely locked up.

Saturday
24th January |
I
got electrocuted by an electric fence today, when I went in
the field. It really frightened me and I just ran about crying
and limping. What a shock I got ! I'll have to watch out for
that next time. The electric fence is supposed to protect
the sheep from predators and stop the sheep from escaping.
It certainly would do that all right. Although sheep are so
stupid and have such thick woolly coats, I am not sure it
would actually stop them from breaking out of the field.
Big Guy and Boss Woman are going to a Burns Supper tonight.
They will be eating Haggis, neeps and tatties. If I had known
she liked Haggis, then I could have caught her one in the
field. I wonder if Haggis can run fast ???

Monday
19th January |
Crikey, we had a very busy 2 days, this weekend. Big Guy and
Boss Woman drove all the way down to Leeds in a big Luton
Van on Saturday afternoon that he had hired. It was such a
long way and I didn't like it at all. The van kept rattling
and making strange noises. There was a really loud banging
noise when part of the windscreen trim fell off. It took ages
to get down there and there wasn't much room for me on the
seat to lie down. Big Guy bought fish and chips and me and
Amber got to share a fish, which was really nice as we were
both starving.
I don't think I would like to live down
in Leeds, because there wasn't anywhere that me and Amber
could run about off lead. We only got to have an onlead walk.
I got to
lie on the floor to sleep. There was plenty of room for me
and I just slept all the time, although it was a bit uncomfortable
with all that noise and rattling going on. A little boy asked
Big Guy if I was a BULLDOG. Ha Ha. I am much prettier than
a bulldog I think.

Tuesday
13th January |
I had to go to the vets today for my parvo jab and other ones.
The vet stuck in right in my neck and it made me jump a bit.
Boss Woman said that some dogs owners don't get their dogs
vaccinated and then they cry when their dogs get poorly and
sometimes die. We went to Skatie Shore today for a lovely
walk. I found a tennis ball. Boss Woman always wonders where
I find them because nearly every time we go there, I find
a tennis ball or golf ball. It's because I can sniff them
out with my super strong sniffy nose. I found a mushroom thing
that Boss Woman said was a puff ball. When I carried it, all
the spore powde stuff came out into my nose and made me sneeze
a lot.
I like it at Skatie Shore because I get to chase all the rabbits.
Even though I can never catch them, it's good fun chasing
them all over the rocks. I caught and killed a rat on Sunday
and it bit me on my nose and made it bleed. Boss Woman said
I was a very clever girl. She put me some Surgical Spirit
on my bleeding nose to clean it and it really really stung
and made my eyes water.

Saturday
27th December |
Hello everybody,
I hope you had a really nice Christmas and got loads of
presents. I went to see the old ladies 2 days before Christmas,
which I liked because I got to give them all a kiss. Me
and Amber had some really nice beef for Christmas day that
Boss Woman bought us and we've been eating Turkey ever since.
I got a tug pull and Amber got a chew ball thing for a Christmas
present. Boss Woman also got us a hessian rope tug toy and
she is teaching us to seek and find it, which we like. Boss
Woman has been really busy doing some work for the dog rescue.
Loads and loads of tiny puppies and dogs are now needing
new homes because the people who got them don't want them
anymore. A lot of people buy them as Christmas presents
and when they realise that us pups and dogs pee, poo and
chew everywhere they don't want us anymore. Well of course
we pee, poo and chew everywhere ~ until we are trained otherwise,
how are we supposed to know !!??? We aren't always cute
and cuddly. Sometimes we make a mess, smell and eat things
(like dead moles, rabbits or whatever) that our human owners
don't like. We also need a lot of walks, even when it's
rainy, snowy, cold and windy. Nobody said we made life easy
for our humans even if we love them. Thing is, if we are
well looked after and walked a lot, then we are very happy
and we make our humans happy as well. If we are not looked
after properly then we are sad and poorly and then no one
likes us anymore.Me
and Polly went a lovely walk yesterday with Stella Labrador.
We walked for a long way through muddy fields over Barras
and we had to have an all over wash when we got back because
we were so muddy. This is only the second Christmas that
me and Polly have had together with Boss Woman. We have
had lovely time this holiday going for some very nice long
walks with Boss Woman and Big Guy and lying in front of
the log fire at night has been really cosy.

Wednesday
18th December |
Me
and Amber were scared in the Forest today. Someone was shooting
really close to us down by the river in the Forest ~ it was
really loud as well. It was only when Boss Woman shouted to
them that they stopped shooting. There was a lot of other
people walking dogs as well and Boss Woman reckoned we were
all lucky not to have got shot. I had a playfight with Charlie
dog. He was really friendly and we played chasing and jumping
for ages. I went and stood by Boss Woman
because I didn't like the loud noises.
|
Monday
15th December |
Walked
on to Seal Island today to see the baby seals. There were
loads and loads of baby seals on the rocks and they weren't
half making a racket with wailing and barking. I barked at
them back just to let them know that I was there and watching
them closely. The big seals kept popping their head out of
the water to look at us. The tide was coming in really fast
and I didn't fancy jumping in the sea to swim to the Island
to have a closer look, just in case the big seals got hold
of me. Yeah, they were really big with
big giant heads. Probably had very sharp teeth as well.

Friday
12th December |
Boss
Woman almost had a heart attack this morning. There were 5
pigs that had escaped from the local pig farm, running about
outside our fence. I could easily have chased them back up
to the farm and saved the 4 men the job of getting them back
again, but Boss Woman wouldn't let me. It's started snowing
again now. We had great fun chasing
the rabbits down at Skatie Shore today. The waves on the sea
were gigantic !
|
Tuesday
9th December |
We
had to go out early for our walk today because I am working
as a Therapet at 11 a.m. The big blazing red sun was just
coming up over the sea when we went down the fields. The ground
was all white and really sparkly with the frost ~ it was a
bit cold on my feet as well ! It's nice going at that time
in the morning because eveything is so peaceful and still.
We saw some geese and 2 swans flying
overhead. The wings of the swans made a very strange whooshing
noise as they went past. Chicken for dinner.
|
Sunday
29th November |
It
was absolutely freezing cold today in the fields. -2 in fact.
Big Guy came with us and Boss Woman for a long walk. We saw
(and chased) loads of geese, 1 deer and 8 pheasants. We had
great fun. I'm glad Boss Woman put our hoodiies on because
we were shivering a bit at first until we got running around,
When we came near to the field with sheep, Big Guy put me
back on lead. I don't see why, just because I chased sheep
on Ben Whyvis doesn't mean to say I'll chase them now, does
it ?? Anyway, I came back when I was called and didn't catch
them. I mean, I only chased them before because they looked
stupid and I wanted to see how fast they could run. I
flushed out 6 pheasants from the bushes today. Polly was chasing
the geese and barking at them and she chased a deer for ages
as well. I chased the deer but I couldn't run as fast as Polly.
We had lamb for dinner. Polly could have caught some of her
own if Big Guy had let her off the lead !
|
Thursday
27th November |
Went on my
first ever Therapet assignment today, to the Old Folks Home.
I really enjoyed it and I gave everyone licky kisses even
though Boss Woman said I hadn't to go round
kissing everyone. Everyone made a real fuss of me and even
the local newspaper turned up to take my picture with one
of the nice old ladies. I wore a new lead and collar on
that Boss Woman bought specially ~ she said it wasn't possible
to wear my everyday one because it was dirty and smelt of
rabbit poo. I had to wear a bright green flash as well,
so everyone could recognise me straight away. One nice old
lady wanted to give me a cuddly mouse but Boss Woman said
I couldn't have it because I would eat it in 2 seconds !!
As if !!! I didn't go, I had to stay
at home. Boss Woman said when I am a bit older and don't
jump up so much then I can go as well. I think I would like
it as I like plenty of attention and giving everyone licky
sloppy kisses. Lungs for dinner. Gnipper the cat didn't
eat hers so me and Polly shared it.

Friday
21st November |
MY
BIRTHDAY TODAY !! Yippeeee I am now 2 years old. Boss Woman
got me a really nice leather
collar for my birthday present ~ nice isn't it ? and she
bought some really expensive Smart Price supermarket
steak for me and Amber's dinner. Big Guy says that she spoils
us! It's snowing today, huge ginormous flakes but me and Amber
liked it and ran all over the fields trying to catch the snowflakes.
I chased some geese in the sky but they were too high up for
me to jump up and get them. We lost Boss Woman in the fields
today ~ we couldn't see her anywhere because of the big snowflakes.
Luckily, she shouted to us so we could find her. Phew ! I
was getting a bit worried at one point. We like the snow but
it was a bit cold. I was glad when we got back and had our
steak dinner. I do not think it is funny
when Boss Woman throws snowballs at us She was laughing her
head off when the snowballs were hitting us and Polly was
trying to jump up to catch them but I didn't, because I didn't
think it was funny at all.

Saturday
8th November |
Me, Amber,
Boss Woman and Big Guy went a walk around Loch Muick today.
It rained most of the day and the path was waterlogged and
muddy. We still really enjoyed the walk though. We met loads
of people who made a fuss of me and Amber. One woman who
lived in Somerset had doggie biscuits in her pocket, even
though she had left her dog at home and she gave me and
Amber one. The path was so waterlogged at the end of Loch
Muick that Big Guy carried Boss Woman over it. Honestly,
what a sook ! I found a dead grass snake that I got in my
mouth so that I could show Amber but Boss Woman made me
leave it !
Boss Woman came back from Amsterdam yesterday. I really
missed her because I had to go into day kennels all day
and I missed my long walks. She said they sell funny wacky
backy over in Amsterdam but whatever that is, she didn't
bring me any back. Someone rang her and said they wanted
her to walk their dog and to to do some work in the garden,
picking up all the dog poo from their garden that they hadn't
been bothered to pick up themselves. Boss Woman was laughing
and said that the woman had a cheek and that she did dog
walking and not dogsbody. It was
a nice long walk round Loch Muick but I was a bit tired
and muddy when we got back to the car. Chicken for tea.

Tuesday
4th November
|
It's
such a lovely warm day today. We went down to Skatie Shore
for a run. The sea was smelling really nice and it was so
calm. Me and Amber chased some rabbits (as usual) but didn't
catch any because they were too fast. I had a good game of
chasing with a friendly Bearded Collie. Boss Woman said he
looked so thin, like he needed feeding up. On the way back
home, Boss Woman called at the Butchers to buy lots and lots
of hearts and lungs. I was thinking maybe she had bought it
all for a party she might be giving me in 2 weeks time, for
my birthday. She said if it was a nice day then we would go
for an extra long walk to celebrate my second birthday. We
walked right on by the rocks today. I like it on there, climbing
on the rocks and paddling in the sea and chasing rabbits.
The seagulls were making a lot of noise and I chased them
as well. Heart for lunch, which I like a lot.
|
Friday
31st October |
It
was hailing really hard today. Huge pieces of ice were hitting
us really hard and hurting our faces. I tried running away
from them and I kept looking back to see if they were following
me but I couldn't outrun them. Boss Woman was so wet that
her wellies filled up with water and they made a very strange
sqeaking noise when she walked. I was
really scared and was glad when we got back to the house.
We all got very wet and me and Polly were shivering we were
so cold. Boss Woman put a heat pad in my bed for me and it
was soooo cosy, it was lovely and warm.
|
Tuesday
28th October |
We
went on Balmedie beach today. Boss Woman was shivering she
was so cold. Well, if she had run about up and down the beach
playing chasing like me and Amber were doing then she would
have kept warm like we did. It was
snowing on the beach and the sea had big enormous waves.
|
Monday
27th October |
Here I am,
back again. Boss Woman floated off to France for a week
so me and Amber had to go into kennels down the road. It
wasn't too bad and it's a lot better than one I had to go
in before, when I was little. I'm really really glad to
be back home now though. We went on St. Cyrus beach today
for a long long run. Boss Woman said it was hot and sunny
in France, well, it was freezing cold here ! She gave us
a shower when we got back from the beach. She got some new
shampoo and she wanted to try it out on us. It smelt lovely
and now I smell lovely as well and my coat is all shiny
and soft. She rang somebody up about dog walking so it looks
like she might be doing some dog walking for people, I just
hope she takes me with her because I like other dogs and
I certainly like walking. I was soooo
glad she came back. I was beginning to get worried that
she had forgotten about us. It's lovely to be back home
and I think Gnipper the cat missed us as well. When we went
for our walk, stupid Polly went jumping about in the sea
but I didn't ~ it was far too cold !
|
Wednesday
15th October |
Boss Woman got a letter this morning from Canine Concern,
to say that I am now a qualified registered Therapet Dog.
Apparently I can now visit old people at the Care Homes where
they live and help cheer them up. I think I will like that
because I do like meeting people and having a 'clap' as they
call it up here. Boss Woman has been arranging it this morning
and there are 2 Care Homes that already want us to visit.
Cool. Boss Woman said she will have to keep a close eye on
me because most old people are very nice but some might be
grumpy and kick me so she will have to keep me close by her
as she said I am precious and she doesn't want me to get hurt.
Boss Woman said she would be grumpy as well if she had to
live in an Old Folks Home. She said
that when I get sensible and stop jumping up for attention
then she will get me assessed for a PET dog as well. I think
I will like that, as I do like attention and people talking
to me and I love giving people slobbery kisses.

Tuesday
7th October |
Big
Guy had to go down to near Keswick in the Lake District with
his work yesterday so me and Boss Woman went with him. It
is a very posh hotel at Lodore Falls where we are staying
and they even let ME stay here. While Big Guy was working
me and Boss woman went on a lovely walk to Keswick We met
an old guy who was walking his dog which was a Labrador x
Collie Cross and he walked with us back along a path on Cat
Bells. His dog was really friendly and we played chasing and
sniffing out rabbits. It has been raining hard nearly all
day but luckily I had my cagoule on that Boss Woman made me,
so I stayed fairly dry until I jumped in Derwentwater for
a swim. We went to a cafe where I was allowed to go in as
well and we shared an egg and bacon sandwich. We met loads
of people on the walk and some of them laughed at me with
my cagoule on, because they thought I looked 'cute' and everyone
made a fuss of me. Only thing was, Boss Woman had her bright
blue wellies on ~ she has no shame, it was so embarassing
walking with her. We saw a big fat guy with a Boxer. Now,
I don't like Boxers ~ ever since Boss Woman took me to doggy
training when I was very small and Bob the Boxer used to jump
all over me and frighten me, I have never liked them. Well,
this big fat guy and his Boxer were horrible. I growled at
the slobbery chops Boxer and when the big fat guy tried to
get hold of me I growled at him as well. He kept saying he
wasn't scared of me whle he was trying to get hold of me and
Boss Woman told him 3 times not to touch me but he was still
trying to, so I let him clearly know that if he did get hold
of me that I would BITE him. I mean, I had to protect Boss
Woman from him because neither of us trusted him ~ he looked
a nasty man and he would not leave me alone.
|
Saturday
4th October |
Boss Woman
has been really upset and crying today. Bonnie, my litter
sister has been put to death by the vet. Because she wasn't
a very well balanced dog because of her owners, she bit
Auntie Tracie of the Staffie Rescue who went to rescue and
re-home her (again) from the people that took her as a puppy
and she is now dead. It's not Auntie Tracie's fault. Boss
Woman doesn't think it's Bonnie's fault, she thinks it's
the owner's fault for not realising that Bonnie needing
firm guidance, firm handling and good training, then she
could even have stayed with them. Poor Bonnie, at least
she won't suffer any more. Me and
Polly are glad that we live here. We get well fed, well
looked and sometimes a smack bottom if we are naughty (
which I never am !!! ). Also we get to go on very very long
walks and runs in the fields.
|
Thursday
2nd October |
Boss
Woman can't take us for a run in the field until this afternoon
because she is busy baking biscuits for the market on Saturday.
I wish she would hurry up, I'm getting a bit bored waiting
for her.I don't feel very well right
now and I was sick last night. Boss Woman has put me a nice
warm heat pad on my bed to keep me warm.
|
Monday
29th September |
Boss
Woman had the shock of her life today. There was a Kestrel
in the garden crouching over a dead bird it had just killed
and she sent me and Amber out to sort it out. She thought
it was one of our baby ducks the Kestel had got but it turned
out to be a young wood pigeon with it's head ripped off that
had been in a nest in the Elderberry tree. Big Guy had to
go to the Doctors today because he got something in his eye
at the weekend and it was all sore and swollen and he could
hardly see out of it. Me and Polly chased
the bird away ~ I don't think it will come back in a hurry
! The mother wood pigeon was flying around looking all over
for it's baby.
|
Thursday
25th September |
Boss
Woman got another biscuit order in today, from Oban. I think
she is going to be very busy next week making biscuits because
she has the Farmers Market a week on Saturday as well. She
got some Smoked Salmon from Aberdeen today for making biscuits
and me and Polly got some of it. It is really lovely and we
liked it very much. We picked some more Blackberries as well,
today.
|
Tuesday
23rd September |
Went
in the Forest today and all the leaves are falling off the
trees. Loads of noisy geese have been flying overhead as well,
I think winter must be coming.
|
Monday
22nd September |
Went
to Skatie Shore today. I don't really like it much down there
anymore, it is getting too busy. Me and a Jack Russell were
having a sniffy sniffy and it bit my leg so I growled at it.
It's Boss Woman picked it up I think she was scared in case
I bit it back, well I should have because it was a nasty little
ankle biter, but I just barked at it to tell it off.
|
Sunday
21st September |
Me, Big Guy
and Boss Woman went to Northumberland for the weekend, they
went to pick up some day old Maran chickens. Boss Woman
likes these chickens because when they get older, they will
lay the darkest brown egg you have ever seen. They are really
noisy, they won't stop cheeping, even when Boss Woman feeds
them, they still make a noise all the time. We had a lovely
time staying at a Bed and Breaksfast in Carlton, North Yorkshire
and the owners even let ME stay there. I got to go to the
Pub with Boss Woman and Big Guy when they went for a bar
meal. Boss Woman saved me her Venison Sausage, it was very
tasty. There was some nice people that stayed in the Bed
& Breakfast as well that we saw at the pub later. One
of the men kept making a fuss of me and said he wanted to
take me home with him and kept hold of me all the time.
I think he liked me. Boss Woman said he would soon send
me back home again when he realised that I like eating dead
moles. We went a 12 mile walk over the Moors and somehow
we strayed off the path. There was a big fat guy there with
a very strange accent. Boss Woman said it was supposed to
be a posh English accent but it sounded gobbleygook to me,
like nothing I had ever heard before. Don't know why he
couldn't pronounce his words properly ~ maybe he was drunk
? He said Big Guy and Boss Woman had no right to be there
and that the DOG especially shouldn't have been there, even
on lead, like I was. Boss Woman said she was sorry for squashing
his grass and that in Scotland we had access rights over
all land. Well, he said that we weren't in Scotland, it
was England and that we had to leave straight away. On the
way back we had a long walk on Ross Links near Seahouses.
Big Guy got us some Fish and Chips and I had a whole fish
to myself. Boss Woman said that Big Guy always spoils me.
. It was lovely and warm and I really liked running on he
beach. I got to go to Linn of Dee
with Stella Labrador. She was very well behaved and didn't
keep annoying me like she normally does.
|
|
Friday
19th September
|
Went
a run in the fields today. It was sooo hot, both me and Amber
were panting a lot. Boss Woman gave us a drink of water which
we were glad of. Boss Woman has been speaking to someone who
sells doggy things at a market and she has a website where
she sells lovely dog hoodies that she makes. Well, she is
going to sell Boss Woman's dog biscuits, so that other dogs
can enjoy them as well as me and Amber.
I tried to dig a rabbit out of it's hole but I couldn't reach
it. I was digging for ages but Boss Woman called me away.
I don't know why, I could have caught our own dinner.
|
Tuesday
16th September |
It was chucking
it down this morning when we went down to Skatie Shore and
we all got wet and muddy. Boss Woman wore her fancy new
bright blue wellies with stripes inside, they are so bright
it is embarassing walking with her. Me and Amber still had
great fun chasing the rabbits though AND we nearly caught
one. I found a lime green golf ball in the Forest but it
was a bit hard on my teeth when I tried to bite it. Donna
from the newspaper is going to put me in the newspaper again
and also write about the dog biscuits that Boss Woman makes.
Donna has 2 dogs as well, that's probably why she likes
writing about dogs. Boss Woman and Big Guy are trying to
get some sponsors for their walk in Nepal, with the money
going to the Scottish Staffie Rescue like it did last time
we did a walk. Only this time, they said I can't go with
them. I think she's mean. I would behave myself
and not scare the Yaks, honest.I really
liked it down at the beach, me and Polly were running about
all over, it was great fun. Polly went in the sea as well,
but I didn't want to get salty water on me. We had fish
for dinner, with cheese and some tomato mixed in, it was
really lovely.
|
Friday
12th September |
Walked over
to Barras today, it was a really nice walk and we got to
run about in the fields chasing each other for ages. We
saw 2 old labradors being taken for a walk by their Boss
Woman. The oldest was 14 years old and could hardly walk,
she was wobbling about on her feet and walking really slowly.
I hope I don't get like that when I get old. I wanted to
play with the other one but he was too old to chase me even
though I was hiding in the long grass and jumping out on
him and running up and down and round and round barking
at him telling him to chase me, he couldn't. His Boss Woman
said she thought I was really funny and she was laughing
at me. Boss Woman told her I was just showing off. I was
not, so !!!! Boss Woman picked loads of Blackberries, she
said they were for making Blackbery & Apple Biscuits
for the next market. Well, I hope she saves us some, because
we like Blackberries so much that we even pick our own.
Me and Polly ate loads of Blackberries,
Boss Woman said if we ate any more we would get belly ache.
I liked playing chase with Polly and I kept hiding in the
wheat field but Polly always found me. I ate a dead mouse
off the road on the way back, luckily Boss Woman didn't
see me otherwise I would have got into trouble. Beef for
tea. Mmm.
|
Friday
5th September |
Went
up Bennachie today and walked about 6 miles. It was lovely
and warm. We saw 2 men with digging machines doing some path
repairs. One of the machines had a MASSIVE jaw on the front
with sharp teeth, so I growled at it and barked really loudly
~ after all, I had to protect us all from it attacking us.
It looked really fiercesome !! I had
to be carried over some rocks because my legs weren't long
enough to get over them. I really liked the walk and we went
through some Forest and in the water, it was lovely.
